The Melfort Expos will be starting their season following the Victoria Day Long Weekend. The team does not have a schedule but hope to start the Prince Albert Sportsman Fastball League season this week,

“We are hoping to be competitive and give the few fans we get out some good ball to watch,” Tony Degerness of the Melfort Expos said.

“The league schedule not out yet, but I’m hoping we’ll start this week,” Degerness said.

Degerness explained that they have added a few new players to their existing core.

“We have Zach Degerness and Branden Miller that are new to the team and should bring us some speed and some great at-bats,” he said.

He hopes that with a strong returning team they can sneak into the top two or three spots in the Sportsman.

Traditionally the Expos doubleheader games are on Wednesdays at Spruce Haven Ballpark Diamond 1.
